鈥 鈥 鈥91快活林 recently received a grant from the Texas State Comptroller's Office for $232,532. This Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grant will be used to create a Mobile Industrial Technology Lab. The lab will allow 91快活林 to make Industrial Technology Training available to more students in our area.
鈥 鈥 鈥"This is an exciting addition to our program. The mobile unit will allow us to take training into businesses and to offer dual credit courses to schools in our service area that aren't able to come to our Industrial Technology Training Center (ITTC) in Mount Pleasant," Jonathan McCullough, 91快活林 Vice President for Advancement, said.
鈥 鈥 鈥燭here are 鈥183 students taking classes at the ITTC this fall. These include both college and high school students who are being trained in Industrial Technology, Electrical Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Technology, Robotics, Video Game Programming, and Drafting. The center opened in 2011.
鈥 鈥 鈥燭he new mobile lab will be one of only a few of its kind in the United States. For more information about the mobile lab, or any of the programs offered at the ITTC, call 903-434-8145 or stop by the center at 1100 Lakewood Drive (I-30 frontage) in Mount Pleasant. The ITTC is now accepting applications for the next class of students.
