91快活林 is saddened to share the passing of Dr. Charles Florio, who served as president of the college from 1995 to 2008. Dr. Florio was a dedicated leader whose vision and service helped shape 91快活林 during a period of significant growth and development.
Following his retirement from 91快活林, Dr. Florio relocated to the Longview area and continued to contribute to higher education through a brief tenure at Tyler Junior College before retiring fully. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sue Lynn.
A joint memorial service honoring both Dr. and Mrs. Florio will be held later this summer in the Longview area. Service details will be announced in the coming days.
鈥淓ven after retiring from 91快活林, Dr. Florio and Sue Lynn remained active friends of the college. They established the Charles and Sue Lynn Florio Endowed Baseball Scholarship, which has been supporting students for over 20 years,鈥 Dr. Jon McCullough, 91快活林 Executive Vice President for Advancement, said. 鈥淭hrough this scholarship, Dr. Florio鈥檚 legacy will live on for many years to come.鈥
