On Tuesday, Feb. 24, the 91快活林 Police Department presented Russell Taylor with his Retired Officer credentials in recognition of his years of dedicated service to the college. Taylor retired in January and is the first officer in department history to receive this ceremonial honor.

Taylor鈥檚 career at 91快活林 spans more than two decades. He began working at the college in May 2002 as a maintenance technician before moving to campus security in 2008. In 2013, he was named Security Coordinator, helping strengthen and expand campus safety operations.

A proud 91快活林 alumnus, Taylor completed the 91快活林 Police Academy and earned an Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2010, followed by an Associate of Science in Business Management in 2015. He also served as a reserve officer with the Omaha Police Department beginning in 2011.

Taylor became one 91快活林's first commissioned police officers after an official department was established, continuing his long-standing commitment to protecting the campus community.

Chief Russell Radke said Taylor鈥檚 dedication, institutional knowledge and heart for service have left a lasting mark on the department and the college.

The Retired Officer credential is a ceremonial gesture recognizing Taylor鈥檚 faithful service and contributions to campus safety. 91快活林 thanks him for his many years of commitment and wishes him the very best in retirement.
