The 91快活林 Foundation recently received a $10,500 gift from International Sulphur, Inc. The funds will provide seven $1,500 scholarships to 91快活林 graduates transferring to a university to continue their studies.
91快活林 is accepting applications for Day and Evening EMT Basic classes. Go to to fill out the online application. Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays with a clinical component added.
91快活林 Athletic teams will complete the fall competition season this weekend with the final Fall Rodeo competition hosted by Sam Houston State University.
The 91快活林 community is invited to attend a virtual Coffee Chat hosted by Texas A&M University-Texarkana on Friday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. Mayor Tracy Craig, Sr. of Mount Pleasant, who is a recent graduate of A&M-Texarkana, will discuss his experience as a transfer student and give advice for future students interested in transferring to A&M-Texarkana. Last Saturday, 6 February, the Walter Prescott Webb Society, the Collegiate Auxiliary of the Texas State Historical Association, held its 47th annual presentation of the Caldwell Memorial Awards. These cash gifts are given to college and university students across the state yearly for the best essays in Texas History. In 1974, University of Texas Professor, Joe Frantz, appealed to Texas oilman, Clifton Caldwell, for funding, and the results have not only enlivened the discipline of Texas history but has benefitted the careers of many young Texans.
Alpha Mu Chi, 91快活林鈥檚 chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, received a grant from the Mellon Foundation to help fund a documentary dealing with the issues of accessibility for the visually challenged. Inspired in part by the increasing use of the internet for business and education this year, a move that that left large segments of the population, such as the visually challenged, underserved, the chapter sought to explore the issues of accessibility in more depth.
