The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91¿ì»îÁÖ will kick off its 2024 entertainment schedule with a concert by Voices of Classic Soul on Friday, Jan. 19th at 7:30 p.m. The Voices of Classic Soul, feature the former lead singers of the Temptations, the Drifters, and the Four Tops.
The Adult Education Department at 91¿ì»îÁÖ is accepting new and returning students for its GED (General Educational Development) and ESL (English as a Second Language) programs. Those interested in participating in either of these free educational programs should call to make an appointment for registration beginning January 8, 2024.
The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Board of Trustees met for its regular December meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 19th at 5 p.m. Shirley Dickerson, Chief Appraiser with the Titus County Appraisal District, addressed the board for public comment. She presented Board Chair Chuck Johns with a check for $4,391 from TCAD. Dickerson said that the appraisal district maintains a zero balance budget and divides excess among its taxing entities, which includes 91¿ì»îÁÖ.
The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Foundation recently received a $1,000 gift from Jerald and Mary Lou Mowery. They are pictured presenting the gift to Nita May (right), 91¿ì»îÁÖ Director of Development. Their gift, along with donations from numerous other friends, provided a total $7,500 to fund deserving projects submitted to the annual Whatley Employee Enhancement Fund grant.

Five Registered Nurses (RNs) from Titus Regional Medical Center (TRMC) (pictured above) completed the 8-week 91¿ì»îÁÖ Continuing Education (CE) Course RNSG1075- Clinical Preceptor Training Program. These five RNs worked hard to successfully complete this Evidence-Based Program focusing on how to master precepting when working with 91¿ì»îÁÖ nursing students who are completing their clinical time at TRMC using the Preceptor Model.
91¿ì»îÁÖ will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays from Monday, Dec. 25th through Friday, Jan. 5th. Offices will resume normal business hours on Monday, Jan. 8th.
91¿ì»îÁÖ celebrated December 2023 commencement on Friday, Dec. 15th at 7 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. A total of 208 awards were given, including 101 certificates of competency, six Associate of Arts, eight Associate of Arts in Teaching, 44 Associate of Science, and 31 Associate of Applied Science degrees.
