Whatley Center announces 2018-2019 show lineup
The Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at 91¿ì»îÁÖ recently announced its 2018-2019 entertainment lineup. Season tickets are on sale now and individual ticket sales begin Wednesday, Aug. 15.
The Entertainment Series, which is included in all Friends of the Whatley season ticket packages, kicks off with the 3 Redneck Tenors on September 25. They are a ?new breed? of tenors, combining musical comedy with classically-trained singers to create a truly entertaining experience. The 3 Redneck Tenors are sponsored by Ruby R. Neely.

Adult Education accepting students for free GED, ESL classes
The Adult Education Department at 91¿ì»îÁÖ is accepting new†and returning†students for its GED (General Educational Development) and ESL (English as a Second Language) programs. Those interested in participating in either of these free educational programs†should call to make an appointment for registration. †While classes are offered in various convenient locations around the area, all registration will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at 105 N. Riddle Street in Mount Pleasant.

91¿ì»îÁÖ signs new 2+2 agreements with A&M-Texarkana
91¿ì»îÁÖ and Texas A&M University-Texarkana recently signed articulation agreements for the following 2+2 degree plans. These allow students to take the first two years of courses at 91¿ì»îÁÖ and transfer seamlessly to A&M-Texarkana to complete a bachelor's degree.
Continuing Education offers summer courses for kids and adults
The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Continuing Education Department is offering two great new classes this summer. Introduction to Drone Technology is a four-day course for ages 10-16. It is designed to teach students how to safely operate drones and will focus on operating them within the rules and regulations of the FAA. Topics will include basic operation and maintenance, programming and flying skills. The class will be held July 30 through August 2 from 8 a.m. to noon on the main 91¿ì»îÁÖ campus. Drones and other equipment are provided in class.
