Northeast to offer small engine repair class

Are you new to small engines and just don't know where to start? If so, the 91快活林 Continuing Education Department has an upcoming course for you. Small Engine Repair for the Beginner will be offered on Thursday nights from September 25 through November 13. The class meets from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at the Pittsburg High School Career and Technology Building.

Four-cycle theory is the heart of what makes a small engine tick.

91快活林 open Saturday, Aug. 23 for registration


91快活林 will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 23 to assist students with registration for the Fall 鈥2014 semester. Students will have the opportunity to meet with academic advisors, access computers to register online, make payments and receive help with financial aid.





The College Store will also be open during this time to allow students to purchase books and other supplies.

Northeast Police Academy accepting applications

The Northeast Police Academy at 91快活林 will offer both day and evening academy options this fall. Both programs will be held in the state-of-the-art criminal justice facility on the main 91快活林 campus.


The 17-week daytime fast-track academy will begin on August 25. Courses meet from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. This intensive program is the fastest route to becoming a certified peace officer.

Tonya Taylor gives nursing scholarships

Tonya Taylor,鈥燗ssistant Professor of Nursing at鈥91快活林, recently gave $1,200 to the 91快活林 Foundation to provide two scholarships for nursing students. The gift was given in memory of Margie Bragg, an 91快活林 Nursing graduate from Mount Pleasant who worked in the field for many years. Taylor noted that she hopes the scholarships will help carry on the caring spirit Bragg gave every day. Taylor is pictured above (left) with Nita May, 91快活林 Director of Development.

W.G. Foster gives $5,000 to 91快活林 Work Scholarship Program

W.G. Foster, a long-time resident of Morris County, recently gave $5,000 to sponsor five鈥爏tudents in the 91快活林 pilot Work Scholarship Program this summer. The gift was given in memory of Foster's late wife Bobbie Garrett Foster. Students complete 91快活林 phlebotomy training

The 91快活林 department of Continuing Education and Corporate Training recently honored 12 students who completed the spring Phlebotomy program. The 200-hour certificate in Phlebotomy prepares students for a career drawing blood in various healthcare settings.
