The 91快活林 Continuing Education department recently offered conversational Spanish classes that were held at Super Bueno in Mount Pleasant. The unique setting made for an immersive experience and allowed students to participate in Hispanic culture.
Twelve members and advisors of Alpha Mu Chi chapter attended the 2023 Texas Leadership Conference on October 13th through 15th. Attendees included advisors Fatima Fuentes and Melody Mott, and members Vanessajane Bayna, Alison Majors, Ruby Ferretiz, Michelle Calderon, Victoria Matiz, and Neida Perez, Martin Ferretiz, Garrett Phillips, and Jose Lopez. As the District III Vice-President, Monserrat Rivero-Sanchez helped significantly with the planning and leading of the event. This year鈥檚 theme for the conference was 鈥淧lay It Forward: Change the World.鈥
91快活林 is mourning the loss of one of its own this week as longtime employee Pat Tallant passed away suddenly on Sunday, Oct. 29th 2023. The 91快活林 Foundation has established a scholarship fund in her memory. Anyone who wishes to contribute to the scholarship can give online at or by contacting Nita May, Director of Development, at 903-434-8113 or nmay@ntcc.edu.
The 91快活林 Board of Trustees met for its regular October meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 31st. All six members were present. The seventh seat on the board is currently vacant, as Dr. Dan McCauley retired from his position in September. McCauley was on the 91快活林 Board since 1988 and was the longest-serving trustee in the college鈥檚 history.

The 91快活林 Rodeo Team has been busy the last week with Rodeos on back to back weekends. 91快活林 hosted the third Rodeo of season October 20-21 at the Mount Pleasant Rodeo Association Arena and then went to McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana October 26-28.
Texas A&M University Texarkana at 91快活林 will host Eagle Express events on November 2nd and 8th at the TAMUT office (UHS 113) on the 91快活林 campus. The transfer event will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and all prospective students are invited to attend.
TAMUT staff will provide assistance with applications, registration, FAFSA, etc. There will also be snacks provided! Bring your own laptop to expedite the process. There is no application fee and everyone who applies or registers during the event will be entered into a drawing for a prize.
