The Fall 2023 semester starts on Monday, Aug. 28th. Everyone at 91快活林 is excited to welcome both new and returning students. Below are a few tips to help students have a stress-free, successful first week at college:
91快活林 celebrated the retirement of two beloved faculty members on Thursday, Aug. 24th. Dr. Paula Wilhite (pictured right with her husband), Professor of Mathematics, and Mr. Jim Swann (pictured left with his wife), Professor of Spanish, will be greatly missed. Wilhite has taught at 91快活林 since the college opened in 1985. Swann came shortly after her in 1988.

In her first year at 91快活林, Neida Perez became a standout among standouts. As a top-ranked Presidential Scholar, she has earned this fall one of the two most lucrative foundation scholarships granted through the college鈥檚 honors program. She will be the college鈥檚 James and Elizabeth Whatley Scholar for 2023-24.
This scholarship came into being as part of a record-breaking 1.7 million-dollar gift to 91快活林 in 2007 by the Whatley family.

91快活林 has named Haley Colwell as the new leader for the Eagle Softball program. Haley Colwell joins the talented staff at Northeast as the new Head Softball coach.
Colwell brings a wealth of knowledge and experience both as a player and as a coach. Recently she served as the first head softball coach in program history at West Plains High School in Amarillo, Texas.
We are officially less than two weeks away from the start of the Fall 2023 semester. Classes start Monday, Aug. 28th. There is still time to sign up, but you need to act now!
Most current students should be able to register online in the . New students should visit to get started and schedule to see an advisor ASAP. We can't wait to welcome everyone back for the 2023-2024 academic year!
The 91快活林 Theatre Department, in collaboration with Firefly Community Theatre (Pittsburg Camp County Arts Council) will soon host auditions for it's upcoming radio play production of Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus, based upon the teleplay by Val De Crowl and Andrew J. Fenady. Auditions will be held on September 6th at 6 p.m. at the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts and callbacks (if needed) will be September 7th. Both 91快活林 students and members of the community are encouraged to audition.

91快活林 celebrated its August 2023 commencement on Friday, Aug. 11th at 7 p.m. in the Whatley Center. There were 95 total graduates (not all were in attendance) who received 69 degrees and 50 certificates of competency. Monaka Rash gave the student welcome and Yara Maldonado gave the student response address.
By now you've probably heard about Pickleball, but have you given it a try? 91快活林's continuing education Pickleball class is back by popular demand! There's never been a better time to get some exercise and have a great time making new friends and learning about this exciting sport.
