Three 91¿ì»îÁÖ Scholars to Speak at Lunch & Learn

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation recently named two students at 91¿ì»îÁÖ as semi-finalists for their highly competitive and elite Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship. Rhylie Anderson of Winnsboro and Lilly Haack of Wenona, Illinois both made the shortlist for the scholarship.
The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program is pleased to announce that 91¿ì»îÁÖ is now a testing site for the National Registry (NR), which is the certifying agency for EMS personnel nationwide. This opportunity for onsite testing will provide 91¿ì»îÁÖ program graduates and other qualified individuals at all levels of EMS training with a local option to take their professional exams.
The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Art Department will host a photography exhibit by Ginger Sisco Cook February 8-27 in the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts. The show is free and open to the public for viewing during regular business hours.
The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Medical Assistant Program (MA) recently collaborated with the Physical Therapist Assistant Program (PTA) in a mock evacuation of a physician office due to a chemical spill. They are pictured as a group above. The PTA students assisted in the evacuation efforts and portrayed patients and family members of patients in order to create a real-life scenario.
It may still be winter, but spring is in the air at 91¿ì»îÁÖ as the Eagles baseball and softball teams gear up for the spring seasons. Baseball will kick off the pre-season with a home series against Cowley College Feb. 1-2. Softball opens the same weekend at home with games against Mountain View and Hill College, both on Feb. 2.
The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Board of Trustees voted to appoint Frankie King of Pittsburg to fill a vacant board seat last Tuesday night at the regular January meeting. King will serve in Place One, which became available after Jerry Webster retired from the board in December.

For their performance in two challenging honors seminars at 91¿ì»îÁÖ in relation to their peers, two Presidential Scholars have recently won $100 checks.
The Official Blues Brothers Revue is coming to the Whatley Center at 91¿ì»îÁÖ on Monday, Feb. 11. There have been many imitators, but there is only one duo in North America sanctioned by Dan Aykroyd and Judith Belushi to don the official hat and sunglasses and walk in the legendary footsteps of Jake and Elwood Blues.
91¿ì»îÁÖ recently received a donation of four Stop The Bleed kits from the Northeast Texas Regional Advisory Council (NETRAC). Each kit contains enough supplies to provide immediate first aid for up to 10 patients in the event of a mass casualty scenario. The kits will be placed in central locations around campus. In addition to the kits, NETRAC also provided training materials to be used in training 91¿ì»îÁÖ Faculty and Staff on how to respond to bleeding patients.
