Wesley Fellowship center nears completion

Many of you may have noticed a new building being constructed†adjacent to the 91¿ì»îÁÖ campus. The Wesley Fellowship Center, which is a†result of years of fundraising and planning by members of the Wesley Fellowship, is slated to open within the next few months. The facility features a kitchen, multipurpose room, classrooms and an apartment for the building manager. In addition to being utilized for Bible studies and fellowship events, the center will also be used by 91¿ì»îÁÖ and Chapel Hill for various other purposes. Look for further information in the near future!

† † † 91¿ì»îÁÖ and The University of Texas at Tyler Longview University Center celebrated a new partnership Wednesday at the Industrial Technology Training Center (ITTC) in Mount Pleasant. A new 2+2 articulation agreement allows students who complete an Associate of Applied Science degree in Industrial Technology at 91¿ì»îÁÖ to transfer smoothly into UT Tyler?s Industrial Technology bachelor?s degree program.

Honors Northeast wraps filming for fifth movie

The scholars of Honors Northeast completed filming their fifth feature-length movie last week in Nacogdoches.†The subject of this year?s film was the end of the Texas Cherokee and the transformation of Sam Houston. The project was researched, written, directed, acted and produced by students in the 91¿ì»îÁÖ honors program with the support of faculty, staff and community members.

20th Century Study Club of Pittsburg gives to Work Scholarship Program

The 20th Century Study Club of Pittsburg recently gave $1,000 to help sponsor a student in the 91¿ì»îÁÖ Work Scholarship Program. Adult Education kicks off school year with 50s themed celebration

The 91¿ì»îÁÖ Adult Education Program kicked off the first week of the school year with a 50s themed celebration. The program recently relocated its office from the main 91¿ì»îÁÖ campus to the Community Resource Center (CRC) at 105 N. Riddle, which is the old Mount Pleasant High School building that was constructed in†1927.

Glenn and Judy Weiss give matched gift for 91¿ì»îÁÖ Morris County scholarships

Glenn and Judy Weiss of Daingerfield recently gave $750 to fund scholarships for Morris County students at 91¿ì»îÁÖ. The gift was matched by the Chevron Corporation, the company Glenn retired from, to make a total scholarship of $1,500. Judy and Glenn (right) are pictured presenting the gift to Dr. Jonathan McCullough (left), 91¿ì»îÁÖ Vice President for Advancement and Nita May, 91¿ì»îÁÖ Director of Development. There are many companies that have programs for matching charitable giving by employees and retirees.
